The Annual Guatemalan Picnic

Domingo 29 de Agosto de 12:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Falcon Heights Community Park

¡Todos Cordialmente Invitados! Vengan con comida y bebida o algo para compartir a lo “potluck” y conozca otros Chapines o amigos de Guatemala. Habrá cocina o lugar para asar carne, espacio para jugar y habrán eventos para todos. Chef Amalia dará una demostración de la cocina Chapina e internacional, Carmen proveerá actividades para niños/as y los jóvenes “Danza Quetzal” bailarán al son de la marimba.   

“Falcon Heights Community Park” está localizado al norte de los campos de la Feria o de la Universidad de Minnesota en San Pablo; esto queda en la esquina de Cleveland y Roselawn Avenue W. 

Eventos:

2:00pm, Chef Amalia, (www.AmaliaLLC.com) proud Guatemalan and a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, will give a cooking demonstration sharing her culinary insights with new ideas to add flavor to your summer. Recordemos que “el amor entra por la cocina” y la comida es vida.

3:00pm, Carmen tendrá actividades infantiles con proyectos de arte y tambien organizará un baile “Danza y la Feria” incluyendo niños/as y adultos; esto culmina con la quema del “Torito.”

4:00 Dance Performance “Danza Quetzal”: a group of young women and men will dance to the marimba music symbolizing a ceremonial Mayan ritual of Guatemala's highlands.

Falcon Heights Community Park

Cordially Invited All Come with food and drink or something to share with the potluck and meet other Chapines or friends of Guatemala. There will be room for cooking or grilling meat, space to play and have events for everyone. Amalia chef will demonstrate Chapina and international cuisine, Carmen will provide activities for children and youth "Quetzal Dance" dance to the sound of the marimba.

Falcon Heights Community Park is located north of the fairgrounds or the University of Minnesota, St. Paul, this is at the corner of Cleveland and Roselawn Avenue W.

Events:

2:00 pm, Chef Amalia (www.AmaliaLLC.com) A Guatemalan and a proud graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, will give a cooking demonstration and will share her insights with new ideas to add flavor to your summer. Remember that "love comes in through the kitchen and food is life."

3:00pm, will be activities for children with art projects and a dance "Dance and the Fair," including children and adults, that culminates with the burning of "Torito"
